Foxhole is located far up the Sassafras River. Nearby is a blue heron rookery that in the summer months is home to literally dozens of these magnificent birds. There are numerous shallow creeks that can be explored in the area, and the fishing is good. Osprey and Bald Eagles are commonly seen perched in trees, flying high overhead, or diving into the water after fish.
